dropless® aDLC

The dropless® aDLC combines the advantages of coatings deposited with PACVD technology with the hardness typical of ta-C obtained with Argor-Aljba's patented dropless® technology, which guarantees a smooth and compact surface. dropless® aDLC has a very high hardness of about 38 GPa (4000 HV) thanks to the sp3 percentage (typical of natural diamond) which can reach 90% and at the same time maintains a very low coefficient of friction (up to 0.08).

All data given are approximate values, depending on application, environment and test conditions. Coating hardness HIT [GPa] Measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. The hardness can be adapted to the application. Coefficient of friction (dry) versus steel determined by dry disc ball test with a steel ball according to ASTM G99. These values may be exceeded during run-in. Maximum service temperature [°C] These are approximate values.

High hardness and low coefficient of friction                                                                                                            Excellent coated surface quality thanks to patented dropless® technology MQL and dry machining.
Suitable for motor components, pumps, compressors, ejectors in the plastics industry, etc. Limits tool life and improves quality. Limits adhesion wear problems. Resists acid and alkaline chemicals and solvents and is hypoallergenic. Argor aDLC can be removed by a decoating process developed directly by Argor-Aljba.
