dropless® 7000 Plus

dropless® 7000 Plus is the ta-C DLC coating deposited using Argor-Aljba's patented dropless® technology at a temperature of less than 100 °C with a standard thickness of 1 µm. The dropless® 7000 plus coating has a very high sp3 percentage (typical of natural diamond) of about 85% and a hardness of about 68 GPa (7000 HV). It comes in a anthracite colour.

All data given are approximate values, depending on application, environment and test conditions. Coating hardness HIT [GPa] Measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. The hardness can be adapted to the application. Coefficient of friction (dry) versus steel determined by dry disc ball test with a steel ball according to ASTM G99. These values may be exceeded during run-in. Maximum service temperature [°C] These are approximate values.

High coating hardness, protection against adhesive and friction wear.
High thermal stability up to 350 °C: possibility of MQL and dry finishes.
Dropless® deposition technology does not alter surface roughness and, under certain conditions, helps to reduce it. dropless® 7000 Plus lends itself to a wide range of applications:
- cutting tools for turning, milling, drilling, countersinking, reaming of non-ferrous materials
- particularly suitable for both carbide and ceramic micro-tools
- moulds
