WC/C

Covering WC/C is a coating based on WC/C, i.e. a diamond-like mixture of metal and carbon, deposited at a temperature below 200°C with a standard thickness of 1 to 4 µm (customised thicknesses are available on request). This is the ideal way to reduce surface fatigue and triboxidation.

All data given are approximate values, depending on application, environment and test conditions. Coating hardness HIT [GPa] Measured by nano indentation according to ISO 14577. The hardness can be adapted to the application. Coefficient of friction (dry) versus steel determined by dry disc ball test with a steel ball according to ASTM G99. These values may be exceeded during run-in. Maximum service temperature [°C] These are approximate values.

Our WC/C coating has good wear resistance and is also antiseptic.
It is valued for its low coefficient of friction (0.08) and its ability to prevent adhesive phenomena such as seizing and cold welding.
WC/C is used to coat all sliding parts such as motor gears, camshafts, compressor screws, slide rails, ball bearing rings, worm screws and all moving parts where poor lubrication conditions exist.
WC/C is one of the ceramic coatings that meets the ISO 10993 standard, is therefore declared biocompatible and does not irritate the skin.
