dropless® 7000

dropless® 7000 is a ta-C DLC coating, deposited with dropless® technology patented by Argor-Aljba, at a temperature below 100 °C with a standard thickness of 0.5 µm. The coating dropless® 7000 has a very high sp3 percentage (typical of natural diamond) of about 85% and a hardness of about 68 GPa (7000 HV). It has a rainbow color.

Hardness can be adapted to the application. Friction coefficient (dry) compared to the steel determined by ball-on-disc dry test with a steel sphere according to ASTM G99. dropless® 7000 is the first choice among all ta-C DLC coatings when the goal is hardness on micro tools that process non-ferrous materials, carbon fibers and titanium alloys.
Thanks to the dropless® deposited technology, the surface roughness is not altered and, in particular conditions, contributes to its reduction. dropless® 7000 is mainly suitable for:
- cutting tools for turning, milling, drilling operations
- particularly suitable for both hard metal and ceramic micro-tools
