Ta-C DLC coatings with a low coefficient of friction are ideal for turning, milling, drilling, reaming, threading or hobbing finishes on materials with a tendency to stick, such as aluminium alloys, copper and brass. DLC ta-Cs deposited using dropless technology have also proved effective in the finishing of titanium and magnesium alloys. They are also used to coat drawing dies, punches and dies, ejectors and ejector pins for plastic moulds.
